CFO: “Why do you say you build AI Agents when there is no AI in this specific process?”
CIO: “AI sells.”
Some thoughts from my last meeting on the road 👇
1️⃣ An AI Agent is not defined by how much AI is inside the process.
It is defined by how it uses AI to interact, reason, decide and act within a workflow.
Most of the work behind an Agent is actually connecting systems, applying business rules, handling exceptions and executing financial processes.
That is what makes it useful.
2️⃣ When AI isn't required, don't use it.
For example, if mapping a chart of accounts can be done deterministically, why introduce AI?
Accuracy, Security, Efficiency, Sustainability.
Using AI just because you can is not innovation.
3️⃣ AI doesn't sell.
After years of unrealistic AI claims from influencers and vendors, many Finance teams are understandably becoming skeptical.
They tried AI. It didn't deliver... And now, people actually implementing AI in production have to overcome that skepticism.
Thanks to everyone who sold the dream before building the reality. 😅
4️⃣ CIO, CFO and others not experienced in this area... come and ask questions and experiences from people who have deployed *in production* 100+ AI Agents (Capto)...
Regardless of influencers, AI hype, detours or even a potential AI bubble burst, AI will spread.
Hybrid teams of humans + AI employees will happen.
It's a question of time.
In the meantime, we focus on what actually matters:
Impact.
We move forward step by step with our clients, building AI Agents around real processes, with security, accuracy and measurable results.
Have a great day,
Alexis
