What happens backstage after your first keynote?
In Bansko, it’s probably not what you’d expect.
No VIP club. No afterparty. No hangover story.
Instead… a mountain, a Jazz Fest, a few crazy business ideas, and a 2,914m climb. 🏔️
Last week, as I hope most of you now know, we hosted our Capto keynote, celebrating our 5-year anniversary.
It was an incredible milestone.
But what made the whole experience truly memorable was everything happening around the keynote.
The partnership with Georgi Tonchev was a big part of it.
From the beginning, we were aligned on one thing:
create something valuable, share insights, and enjoy what makes Bansko special.
Jazz Fest certainly helped. 🎷
After a long night of celebration, everyone went their own way for the weekend.
Then, early Monday morning, we reunited to climb Vihren, the second-highest peak in Bulgaria at 2,914m.
Even if Peter insists on calling it 9,560ft. 😄
With James Meads, Georgi Tonchev, and Svetla Miteva, we climbed, caught up, exchanged ideas, and naturally ended up discussing a few crazy ones too.
Including the rocket project of another Bansko business, Spicy SE. 🚀
And that's perhaps what I love most about building a business from the Bulgarian mountains.
You can have a keynote on Friday, Jazz Fest that evening, a mountain climb on Monday… and somewhere in between, meet people who make you think bigger.
Tomorrow comes the big announcement.
But already today, I can proudly say that this edition was a success, thanks to everyone who supported it and to the incredible ecosystem we are building here in Bansko.
The stage was only one part of the story.
What would your dream backstage event look like?
Have a great weekend,
Alexis
