Most CFOs don’t fail at automation because of Finance.
They fail because IT says “no”.
And honestly… sometimes IT is right! (twist 😅)
Because many automation projects arrive like this:
“Here’s a new platform.”
“Here’s another vendor.”
“Here’s a cloud dependency.”
“Here’s a black box nobody internally understands.”
“Here’s something touching your ERP with admin access.”
Of course IT pushes back...
I can't understand some solutions are still considered...
The interesting part?
The companies succeeding with AI & automation right now are often doing
... 🥁 the opposite.
▶️ Less platform.
▶️ More engineering.
At Capto, *everything* we build is:
▶️ Python
▶️ Tailored
▶️ Lightweight
▶️ Deployable internally
▶️ Aligned with internal policies
▶️ Reviewable by IT
▶️ Fully owned by the client
Sometimes the client hosts everything internally.
Sometimes we simply transfer the repositories to their IT teams.
❌ No lock-in.
❌ No magic.
❌ No “please don’t touch the bot”.
The irony is that the future of AI in Finance might not belong to the companies with the biggest AI strategy decks…
…but to the ones able to make IT and Finance work together pragmatically.
Let's see... on our side, we still struggle to be differentiated by the IT...
Any IT here with insight to make ourselves loud and clear?
Good luck to all of us!
Alexis
