Welcome to episode #26 of Agents of AI, Capto’s podcast for leaders who want to understand how humans + AI agents are reshaping the future.
The "Wizard of Education" joins us to share:
The featured guest, the "Wizard of Education," has a background in investment banking in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. They now live in Dubai and focus on working with governments on innovation, education for youth and women.
We discussed their career pivot from investment banking to an educational and financial literacy role being driven by the financial crisis of 2008. This led them to become an entrepreneur.
A key part of their career transition involved launching the first female accelerator in Belgium after realizing there were not enough women in entrepreneurship. They describe this as their first step into education, helping women start and grow businesses within Europe.
The guest's current focus, especially this year, is on financial literacy, addressing a global gap in money management, planning, and investing. They also work to empower women, advocating that women-led or mixed teams tend to outperform male-only teams. They also noted that women-led startups often have a social impact and retain teams much better.
They shared that AI has been disruptive to their business, particularly by cutting costs on operational and communicational jobs, such as social media outreach, through the use of tools like ChatGPT. They also mentioned using AI for simultaneous translation in interviews and events, which is especially useful when scaling in the GCC where Arabic is important.
A major use case of AI for the guest is a digital twin of themselves, an avatar trained on their content and extra information, allowing people to have "one-on-one meetings" with a "digital me". They plan to monetize this digital twin through subscription models.
The guest is currently building an AI-driven app in partnership with the Ministry of Economy in the UAE to teach university students how to use AI mindfully, train it, and access information. They are also connecting with the Emirates College of Advanced Education, which is transforming the educational system by teaching AI to teachers.
