Most European companies run on American tech.
We decided to try something different.
We are walking the walk... For a long time we wanted Capto to rely more on European technology because what we believe is simple:
Europe is slowly losing ground economically, technologically and strategically.
Not because we lack talent.
Not because we lack companies.
But because we rarely choose our own ecosystem.
Today, the vast majority of European businesses rely on American infrastructure for their core tools... Email, Cloud, Collaboration.
So recently we made a decision:
➡️ Move part of our infrastructure from Google to KSuite, a European provider.
The side effects coming with that decision however surprised me:
🌳 Significant reduction in carbon footprint
🔒 Higher security and confidentiality
💶 Costs divided by almost 10
🦾 More reliability and flexibility
And while writing this I realize these are exactly the same benefits we promise our clients when we automate their processes.
So I'm proud we are not just saying it to our clients.
Actually doing it for ourselves.
Big thanks to Ludovic for helping with the migration. And thanks to infomaniak | The Ethical Cloud for building a European tech alternative.
Maybe small steps like this are how we start rebuilding a stronger European tech ecosystem.
Sunday thoughts... (Especially with municipal elections happening in France.)
