Not because AI is overhyped.
But because I don’t want to be associated with the lack of professionalism surrounding it.
Honestly, I keep scrolling through my feed and seeing posts from recognizable figures like Wouter Born or Joost Vogelezang saying things like:
“The last finance function”
“An Agent would have avoided the accounting the mistake of Kevin Beth at Hub Group”
To me, this is rage and engagement bait at it's finest, not constructive.
And yes… I think I’ve reached my limit.
I have no boundaries anymore on this topic.
I’ll be the gladiator in the arena fighting against profiles making millions of impressions, because we implement more AI Agents in production than most AI influencers.
So let’s correct two things.
Anthropic and OpenAI have two funny realities:
▶️ One keeps hiring more accountants, humans, as they scale.
▶️ The other reportedly hasn’t gone public yet partly because the reporting process isn’t ready.
And yet we are told that AI Agents will replace finance teams overnight?
At Capto, we implement AI Agents every week.
And one thing is very clear:
As soon as there is AI, there is no such thing as 100% certainty.
That is why we don’t just “build agents”.
We build context.
We build rails.
We add code where accuracy matters.
We design controls to avoid the mistakes that models still make.
Because yes, week after week, we still see models make basic accounting mistakes when they are left without structure.
So if you want to hear what is actually hitting production at scale:
How massive logistics businesses in Europe are using AI Agents.
How tax reporting is prepared for hundreds of businesses through Luxembourgish Agents.
How an Agent can truly reconcile expenses in the chemical industry.
And what AI in finance really looks like beyond the LinkedIn hype…
Then contact us.
I now spend my weeks sharing this online and offline... with pleasure :)
Have a great Tuesday,
Alexis
