Mission Accomplished 🤝
Competing AI leaders Dario Amodei (Anthropic) and Sam Altman (OpenAI) apparently can agree on one thing, it’s time to slow down.
One camp says it’s responsible and that AI is on track to threaten humanity in 5-10 years. Others claim this to be the most an S-tier move in investor relations ahead of IPOs.
Well thankfully, if we are wrong in leaning towards the latter and belief this is all financially motivated... there will be no one left to say “told ya so” when we are all extinct a few years from now😅...
Doom and gloom jokes aside, here’s some reasons why:
Significant progress has been made, but accuracy is still an issue, we see LLMs regularly making mistakes with basic accounting rules.
Competition is real: smaller, specialized models, often outperform household names.
Competition is real (v2): open source models are seeing impressive traction.
As it seems we are devoting this edition to predictions, we have a few more:
AI fortune will favor those who build to own, not rent from LLMs.
Long term outcomes and ROI will be driven by those who put security and accuracy first.
No matter what pace LLM models accelerate, value will increasingly live outside; the systems, workflows, data, and controls built around it.
We’ll happily let the model companies fight over who has the smartest model (and who can manipulate Wall Street expectations best). We’re focused on what businesses can actually build, own, and trust.

Company updates worth highlighting.
What can we build in two weeks? - quite a lot, actually - more from our step-by-step client journey with Laurie Borlace of RedBrick Accounting.
More of our top convictions, backed by multiple tests - code is better than prompt, here’s why.
Focus on the business matters - what should come first when building AI
Just a French guy, building a company in Bulgaria - and meeting everyone in-between - many thanks to CCI France Bulgarie and too many friends to mention!

We advocate working from anywhere already, but some people are enlightening us about working from *literally* anywhere. David van der Plicht is out there completing 5K meetings and Brianna Doe offers some not-so-spicy takes about working from home that match. This. Is. The. Way.
