What's happening in the mountains of Bulgaria?

🇫🇷 France… this is Bansko (🇧🇬). Do you copy?
Last week, I got interviewed about what’s going on here.

Indeed, Bulgarians still don't know but it seems that it got heard up to the french horizon, hence the visit of the AFP.

Fun fact: AFP was founded in 1835. It’s the world’s oldest news agency.

So… why are they suddenly interested in a mountain town?
Because something special is happening here:
🚀 World-class infrastructure is being built
(offices, services, housing… soon even school🤞)
💼 Startups with global ambitions are emerging
(If you’re building in Bansko, comment 👋)
🌍 Nomads & expats from everywhere are arriving
(Where are you from if you’re here?)

So… why Bansko?
To me, it looks like a preview of how business will work in the 21st century.
After decades of “everyone must move to big cities”, we’re seeing the reverse.

People are choosing:
✔️ Quality of life
✔️ Nature
✔️ Community
✔️ Lower costs
✔️ Without sacrificing ambition

Remote work made it possible.
Now people are making it real.

I’ve been “arguing” about this at family dinners for years 😄
But this is the first time I see it happening so concretely.
And it’s only the beginning in my opinion.
