"You don't talk enough about Tax" - seriously? We know Tax.

Feedback of the day: "You guys don't talk enough about what you do for Tax teams!"
So here is what we do and why we haven't talked about it so much...

So first, straight to the point, here are our top 8 use cases:
1️⃣Tax Data Automation: Get all sources from accouting provider, ERP, sources of exceptions like expenses... This one is asked every 6 months by a new client.
2️⃣ VAT Process: Automatically check rates, IDs, and cross-border rules, report each category, explain the VAT balance to a 5 yo.
3️⃣ Corporate Income Tax (CIT): Automate tax calculations from trial balance, previous years and more.
4️⃣ Invoice Tax Classification: Auto-classify expenses and VAT recovery eligibility for fewer errors, scalable processing
5️⃣ Tax Audit & Notice Handling: Gather supporting documents for faster response, lower external advisor costs.
6️⃣ Transfer Pricing Documentation: One process, hundreds of documents every year... One of our first use case
7️⃣ Deferred Tax Automation: Track temporary differences, work out optimal balances to generate reports and obtain a more reliable reporting, audit-ready
8️⃣ Country-by-Country Reporting: Aggregate and reconcile multi-entity data and eliminate manual consolidation effort.

These are use cases we’ve been asked for repeatedly at Capto, whether from Tax teams, Finance teams wearing the tax hat, or tax advisory firms.
In most cases, one person connects the dots: the CFO (with 2 exceptions in our track record).
Most of this work remains private... none of our clients have agreed to go public yet.

So yeah we do a lot, I fell into it when I was small (Obelix reference, thanks to the VAT team at PwC) but people prefer cases where they can see clients names and in Tax, that's not often
